Fist Guide Empty Fist Guide

Alright, so you chose to specialize in fists. Be ready to take on one of the hardest and highly rewarding character. This is NOT a good class to start with, but if you have already played beyond 20 you should continue. World of Kungfu rates this class as a 4/5, 5 being the hardest. Why is a fister tough to play?

The answer is multi-faceted:

- They are damage specialists. This means that you generate threat FAST.

- They cannot tank well.

Now, this doesn't mean you are going to be screwed forever. Here are a few things that you should do.

1) Always HP build your equipment. You naturally gain a LOT of mana.

2) I personally believe that you should just use full attack specs. Since the fist is already lower in defense than other class, take advantage of your high attack and just continue to stack it.

- This is great because you can absolutely take down opponents in PvP on 1 on 1. If you can sneak up and land your two stackable damage dots, you win. End of story.

- On the flipside, NEVER GET BACKSIDED BY A PVPer. Keep a look out for orange and red names. Always know who we are allied with and who are our enemies.

3) You can't tank, so don't try. If you want to AoE solo, kite the mobs. This means you cast your AoE, run back a bit, cast your AoE, rinse, and repeat. Don't be afraid to use a HP after each AoE. Just pack a very large lunchbox!

4) The same goes for PvP. Don't tank the player for gods sake. Take advantage of the skills that SLOW your opponent. Let your dots do the work for you!

5) Upgrade your gear, you may not think that 5-7 HP is a lot, but when you get to +4 on 4 items - that's at least an extra 160 HP.

6) I suggest that you carry 3:1 HP pills to MP pills when you solo. Carry 2:1 when in a party as you can just be damage support.

7) Know your skills, then study them again. You have to know EXACTLY what your skills do. You will become far more effectively if you can time your skills correctly.

More to come as I unlock more of the wonderful features of the fist fighter. Enjoy!

See you in game.

WEEE 我最喜欢拳了(translated, i like fist most)

This is my observation of fist from the ongoing Chinese server, which has been on since 2005.
Fist can be great pvp if u hit first, else u are screwed. Fist has great low lvl skills, but the high ones are crappy (totally crappy), but nonetheless its fun. Anyway, the Chinese server has modded the poison skill (remember the one that gives poison damage to yourself or allies? and you wonder what the hell 105mp for 8 poison dmg, and dispelled when the fist guy is whacked?? OMG... crap). THe dispel rate is much lower now over there, and when i use it, it almost never get dispelled.

Okay, 1 thing good about fist, is the AOE grapple skill that 'stuns' everything around you, its the only class with such a skill, so its FANTASTIC!!! In wars, the fist is usually boosted to obscenely high def (from hookers and axes) + life regen (fan) and rush in to grapple everyone before the swords and spears pile their AOE.

There r 2 ways to upgrade. One way is as Tanrei said, upgrade to increase Atk. This coupled with the skill that drop enemy def is v damaging. Upgrading atk is a must for pvp fist.

However, i don't like pvp, so i find Def upgrade better, since fist usually kill due to internal dmg, my lvl 60 fist in the Chinese server deals almost 600 internal dmg per s, which usually kills anyone without full life recovery pots. But then again, that is if you don't die first, hence the def is important. Fist has 2 skills that drop enemy's hit rate (makes them miss) these are wonderful when maxed, and can drop their crit and hit rate by about 30% (from chinese forum). So coupled with a strong def, fist can hold out while the internal dmg pile.

Nonetheless, if pvp is what you want, don't bother about fist. Go for sword or broadsword. For 1, sword has a skill that SEALS ALL actions and potting. Broadsword has a skill that gives 100% chance crit, which can be recharged immediately using another skill = 2x 100% chance crit. Usually no one survives that. Also, broadsword don't use MP, which means... u can't outlast them (unlike for sword where a hooker can instantly heal and drag the war till the sword guy has no mp)

Just my 2cents worth Very Happy

Pudi brings up great points. There is a definite weakness in my build as Pudi said. However, I try to mitiage that by using high dodge gear and in PvP (if I have time) I nerf the hit rate of my opponent and MOVE - a lot. While I'm going to take Pudi's advice on the higher level skills, there are some uses for them.

I don't know how good it is, but fists do get a skill the reduces the aggression of opponents. That seems pretty useful to me, especially against the classes that use no MP (staff and broadsword). If you can stack up a 600 DoT, then I would think you will win. By the time you have the much damage stacked, just run. There is no reason to stick around, if the DoT doesn't kill him - then you woulda lost anyway. Better to be on your way outta there before that happens.

For now, in the 20-30 range, a PvP fister should aim to be able to do substantially more than 100 damage per second. Most players use a 200 HP pill with a 2 second refresh. Keep at a range, don't get teamed up on - and just thud away on the DoTs. I increase my ATK to spike the damage out. For instance instead of doing 50 damage + 48 DoT - I do about 120 damage + 48 DoT. I'm built for short battles, if I don't win 5 moves, I lost.

BTW - DoT = Damage over Time

very good guide, and your right when you say that fist is a hard class, especially when you start on robbers and stuf... my cara in cb1 was a fist, and after a few hits he was in trouble, so tehre was no way to tank. The best thing to do is to put some Dot (open palm style is the best there is) and after run till the monster dies..
